I have been an animal lover since I was born. I was lucky enough to grow up with a wide variety of animals, from llamas, alpacas, horses, ponies, donkeys, cows, birds, geckos and the more typical dogs and cats. Currently, I breed and raise rabbits. I show them both locally and nationally. The breed I am known for is Flemish Giants. This is the largest recognized rabbit in the United States. Though rabbits are my passion, at Elizbar’s Farm we have added a small herd of milking Nigerian Dwarf goats and I plan to be on the show circuit with them soon.
My family and I always thought I would pursue a career with animals, but found my interest was in design while at Tantasqua Regional Technical High School. I graduated in 2013 with a certificate in Computer Aided Design. However, the love for animals still outweighed everything else and I enrolled at Becker College. I am a 2017 graduate of Becker with a B.S. in Veterinary Clinical and Laboratory Animal Medicine and an Associates in Veterinary Technology. I do plan to continue my education and attain my Certified Veterinary Technician license in the future. I started at the Southbridge Veterinary Hospital as a summer student intern in 2016 and have continued as an employee. Most people cannot say they love their job, but me?! I get to be part of every stage of a pet’s life. I get to see them grow up, see them loved and be part of their care. A job can’t get much better than that! I look forward to meeting you and your pets.
I share my home with my 14 year old brindle Boxwe mix, Brittany. An 8 year old orange and white tabby cat, Meow Cat and the newest addition, once barn cat and now couch potato, 3 year old blue tortoise shell cat named Timber, round out the house pets.
When not at work or home, I can usually be found in the barn or at an animal show. I do love the outdoors, and trips to York Beach, ME are a favorite getaway.
